I’m from Croatia and I really had so many special experiences on fundraising during my full time course in the church. During fundraising I was invited many, many times to join lunch, or people gave me coffee, fruits, drinks etc not just during fundraising in Croatia, but also in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Italy etc I remember once in Italy I met Croatian lady and after some talk I managed to get invitation for pizza launch for whole fundraising team (her husband was owner) or other experience in Austria, when I got peace of bread from one old lady but without butter. When I went to some shop and they refuse to buy picture, I asked donation in the butter for my bread. I received it!
