I don’t have a Christmas fundraising story, but I remember doing a traffic stop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the 1980s with another sister, who was on the other side of the road. It was Valentine’s Day and it wasn’t a good day, so I went out again the day after… it felt like winter, and for a girl from South America it felt very cold even in Florida. After a few hours still no result … then a police car stopped and because I couldn’t prove my identity… I had forgotten my ID, I was handcuffed and put in jail for a few hours. I felt so bad and upset. My flowers were taken away and had to pay a little bail from the money I had with me and was let go. When I called my spiritual mother Albertina Clark, who was in New York, the next day and told her what had happened to me, I was rather surprised by her reaction.. “Congratulations, now you know what True Father went through”. I actually was a little disappointed but at the same time felt proud after she said that. It was not a nice, but was an unforgettable experience after all.
